This is a favorite cake on many Navajo tables. The Native people will often bake their cakes in the adobe bread oven. The bread oven is used for making breads, pastries and roasting corn and other foods. This is a dark, rich, moist and very delicious cake. It is served plain, with cool whip, or a favorite icing.
Ingredients: enriched flour (bleached wheat flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin), sugar, cocoa, baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), baking powder (corn starch, bicar-bonate of soda, sodium aluminum sulfate, acid phosphate of calcium), salt.
